Four benefits were cut between 2024 and 2026, and the domestic lounge spend gate started this quarter. Most reviews still describe the old card.
The IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card is a premium card that has a one-time joining fee of around Rs 14,999 plus GST with no annual fee after the first year. The card offers 2.5 points per Rs 100 spent online and provides buy one get one movie tickets at BookMyShow, golf, and lounges. There is something that most review sites will not reveal: IndusInd Bank has gradually downsized this card since 2024. The golf has been reduced by half, international lounge usage has been reduced by half, air accident cover has been removed completely, and as from Q3 of 2026, you require Rs 1.5 lakhs of quarterly spends to use domestic lounges.
Everything That Was Cut, With Dates: IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card
Start here, because a large number of pages still list benefits this card no longer has. Every item below is confirmed on IndusInd’s own updates page or its lounge terms document.
| Benefit | Effective date | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic lounge access | 1 April 2026, applies from July 2026 quarter | Now needs Rs 1.5 lakh spend in the previous quarter to unlock 1 visit |
| Air accident insurance | 21 December 2025 | Discontinued entirely across IndusInd credit cards |
| Golf benefit | 13 March 2025 | Cut to 1 game and 1 lesson a month, from 2 games and 4 lessons |
| International lounge | 13 March 2025 | Cut to 1 visit a quarter, from 2 visits |
| Non cash redemption rate | 15 December 2024 | Reduced from Rs 0.85 to Rs 0.60 per point |
| InterMiles transfers | 21 January 2025 | Discontinued |
| Club Vistara airmiles | 12 November 2024 | Discontinued after the Air India merger |
If a review promises you 2 golf games, 4 golf lessons, 2 international lounge visits a quarter, or Rs 25 lakh of air accident cover on this card, it is out of date.
The Domestic Lounge Spend Gate Explained:
That is the change that is happening now, and it warrants stating the obvious. From 1 April 2026, IndusInd started monitoring spend data for lounge eligibility assessment. A spend in one quarter qualifies you for lounge access in the next. Q4 2026 marks the beginning of the quarter when this rule will be applied.
| Detail | For Pinnacle |
|---|---|
| Spend needed in the previous quarter | Rs 1,50,000 |
| Domestic lounge visits unlocked | 1 visit in the following quarter |
| First affected quarter | July to September 2026 |
| If the spend is not met | No complimentary domestic lounge access at all |
That is how it works. Rs 1.5 lakh worth of spend in three months entitles you to one domestic lounge visit. It does not make sense from any angle, and it makes less sense on other sibling cards, where the Solitaire cardholders require Rs 5 lakh for each quarter to get four lounge visits. If access to the domestic lounge was the reason why you got this card, then it probably is already outdated.

How the Rewards Actually Work:
The earning structure is simple, and the value depends entirely on how you redeem.
| Spend type | Points per Rs 100 | Value at Rs 0.75 |
|---|---|---|
| Online and e-commerce spends | 2.5 points | 1.875 percent |
| Online travel and airline bookings | 1.5 points | 1.125 percent |
| All other spends | 1 point | 0.75 percent |
A good feature is that there are no brand restrictions on online rate compared to cards that provide accelerated earning opportunities on a small selection of merchant partners. The best reward scheme is cash credit worth Rs 0.75 per point. Cashless reward redemption, apart from airmiles, fell from Rs 0.85 to Rs 0.60 per point in December 2024. Thus, cash credit is definitely a way to go.
Redemption Options and Caps:
| Route | Value and limits |
|---|---|
| Cash credit | 1 point = Rs 0.75, capped at 7,500 points a statement cycle |
| KrisFlyer miles | 200 reward points = 100 KrisFlyer miles |
| Catalogue, vouchers and products | Rs 0.60 a point, reduced from Rs 0.85 in December 2024 |
| InterMiles | Discontinued from 21 January 2025 |
| Club Vistara airmiles | Discontinued from 12 November 2024 |
The 7,500 point cap on cash credit per statement cycle is worth noting. At 2.5 points per Rs 100, you reach it at Rs 3 lakh of online spending in a cycle, so it will not trouble most people, but heavy spenders should be aware of it.
Fees That Catch People Out:
| Charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | About Rs 14,999 plus GST, one time only |
| Annual fee | Nil from year two, a real advantage |
| Forex markup | 3.5 percent, high for a premium card |
| Utility payments and wallet loading | 1 percent plus GST, from October 2024 statements |
| Education payments above Rs 45,000 | 1 percent fee, from January 2025 |
| Rent via third party merchants | Reward points capped at 500 a statement cycle |
| Extra lounge visits | USD 27 to USD 35 per visit |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1 percent on Rs 400 to Rs 4,000 |
The 1 percent fee on utility payments and wallet loading is the one people miss. If you were planning to route bills through this card for points, the fee will usually wipe out the 0.75 percent you earn on them.
What Still Works Well:
- No annual fee from year two. You pay the joining fee once and the card is free to hold after that, which is rare at this tier.
- 2.5 points per Rs 100 on all online spends with no brand restrictions, worth about 1.875 percent as cash credit.
- BookMyShow buy one get one, up to 3 free tickets a month at Rs 200 off each, which is up to Rs 600 a month or Rs 7,200 a year.
- Cash credit redemption at Rs 0.75 a point, simple and predictable, with no need to chase travel partners.
- A welcome voucher worth up to about Rs 5,000 that offsets part of the joining fee.
Pros and Cons: IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No annual fee from year two, only a one time joining fee | Domestic lounge now needs Rs 1.5 lakh quarterly spend for 1 visit |
| 2.5 points per Rs 100 on all online spends, no brand limits | Air accident insurance discontinued in December 2025 |
| Movie buy one get one worth up to Rs 7,200 a year | Golf and international lounge both halved in March 2025 |
| Cash credit at a clean Rs 0.75 a point | Non cash redemption cut from Rs 0.85 to Rs 0.60 a point |
| Welcome voucher offsets part of the joining fee | 3.5 percent forex markup is high for a premium card |
| Steady base rate of 0.75 percent on everything | 1 percent fee on utility payments and wallet loads |
How It Compares With Other Premium Cards:
| Feature | Pinnacle | SBI ELITE | HSBC TravelOne | Axis Horizon |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fee structure | Rs 14,999 once | Rs 4,999 a year | Rs 4,999 a year | Rs 3,000 a year |
| Annual fee year 2 | Nil | Rs 4,999 | Rs 4,999 | Rs 3,000 |
| Top reward rate | 1.875 pct | 2.5 pct | 4 pts / Rs 100 | 5 pts / Rs 100 |
| Transfer partners | KrisFlyer only | None | 20 plus | 20 plus |
| Domestic lounge | 1, spend gated | 8 a year, no gate | 6 a year, no gate | Up to 32 a year |
| Forex markup | 3.5 pct | 1.99 pct | 3.5 pct | 3.5 pct |
This card compares poorly on a number of fronts. When we look at lounge access, rewards flexibility and foreign exchange rates, the middle-tier cards score higher and cost less initially. The only thing which is better about Pinnacle card is its structure in terms of payment. Once paid-off, it lasts forever, and in five or six years there is no value in not having an annual fee.
Who Should Get This Card:
- People who spend heavily online and want a flat rate with no brand restrictions.
- Frequent moviegoers, since 3 free tickets a month can be worth up to Rs 7,200 a year.
- Anyone who dislikes recurring annual fees and prefers to pay once and hold the card long term.
- People who will redeem for cash credit rather than chase airline transfers.
It is a poor fit if you want lounge access without a Rs 1.5 lakh quarterly spend, if you want airline or hotel transfer partners beyond KrisFlyer, if you spend abroad and care about forex, or if you were attracted by the golf and insurance benefits, which are now cut or gone.
Our Rating Out of Five:
Balancing a strong online rate, the no annual fee model and a valuable movie benefit against a punishing lounge spend gate, discontinued insurance, halved golf, a devalued redemption rate and a high forex markup, this card earns 3 out of 5. The fee model saves it. The steady stream of cuts is what holds it back.
| Category | Score | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Rewards | 3.5 / 5 | 1.875 percent online, no brand limits |
| Travel benefits | 1.5 / 5 | Lounge gated at Rs 1.5 lakh, insurance gone |
| Lifestyle | 4 / 5 | Movies are the standout, golf halved |
| Fee structure | 4.5 / 5 | One time fee, nothing from year two |
| Overall | 3 / 5 | Saved by the fee model, hurt by the cuts |
Final Take: Buy It for the Fee Model, Not the Lounges:
There is still a case for the IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card, and it rests almost entirely on one thing: you pay the joining fee once and never pay again. If you spend a lot online, watch films regularly, and are happy redeeming for cash credit at Rs 0.75 a point, the card quietly pays for itself over a few years. But be clear about what you are not getting. Since the July 2026 quarter, a single domestic lounge visit costs you Rs 1.5 lakh of spending in the prior quarter. Air accident insurance was scrapped in December 2025. Golf and international lounge visits were both halved in March 2025. Non cash redemption fell from Rs 0.85 to Rs 0.60.
Our recommendation: take it if the online rate, the movie benefit and the no annual fee structure suit you, and ignore the travel perks in your calculation entirely. If lounge access is what you are buying, a mid tier card like Axis Horizon gives you far more of it, for less, with no spend gate.
Frequently Asked Questions: IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card
How much do I need to spend for lounge access on the IndusInd Pinnacle card?
Rs 1,50,000 in a calendar quarter, which unlocks one complimentary domestic lounge visit in the following quarter. IndusInd began tracking spends on 1 April 2026 and the gate first applies to the July to September 2026 quarter. If you miss the spend, you get no complimentary domestic lounge access at all.
Does the Pinnacle card still offer air accident insurance?
No. Air accident insurance coverage on IndusInd Bank credit cards was discontinued with effect from 21 December 2025. Many websites still list a cover of Rs 25 lakh on this card, but it no longer exists.
How many golf games does the card give?
One complimentary game and one complimentary lesson per month, with effect from 13 March 2025. Older reviews list two games and four lessons a month, which is out of date.
What is the annual fee on the IndusInd Pinnacle card?
There is no annual or renewal fee from the second year. You pay a one time joining fee of about Rs 14,999 plus GST and nothing after that, which is the card’s single biggest structural advantage.
What is 1 IndusInd reward point worth?
Rs 0.75 when redeemed as cash credit, which is the best route and is capped at 7,500 points per statement cycle. Non cash redemptions, excluding airmiles, are worth Rs 0.60 a point, reduced from Rs 0.85 in December 2024. Points also convert to KrisFlyer miles at 200 points to 100 miles.
Can I transfer Pinnacle points to airlines?
Only to KrisFlyer, at 200 reward points to 100 miles. InterMiles redemption was discontinued on 21 January 2025 and Club Vistara airmiles on 12 November 2024 following the Air India merger. If you want a wide transfer partner list, a card such as HSBC TravelOne is a better fit.
Is the movie benefit still good?
Yes, and it is now the card’s strongest perk. You get buy one get one on BookMyShow up to three times a month, with a maximum discount of Rs 200 per free ticket. Used fully, that is up to Rs 600 a month or roughly Rs 7,200 a year, which comfortably exceeds what most people earn in reward points.
Are there hidden fees on utility and education payments?
There are fees worth knowing. A 1 percent fee plus GST applies to utility payments and wallet loading, from October 2024 statements onward, and a 1 percent fee applies to education payments above Rs 45,000 from January 2025. Rent paid through third party merchants earns a maximum of 500 reward points per statement cycle.
